fan clutch

My fan exploded a few months back and I finally decided to replace it and the clutch ...but the new doesn't disengage until about 3k rpm ..is this normal for a new clutch ...as in does it need to break in for a while...

I can hold the fan and have someone start the car so I know its not stuck but once the car is started Iccan't stop the fan from rotating...

If I rev it to 3k it disengages but when I leave in the morning it makes an ungodly racket till I hit about 3k ...advise please

Depending on the kind you bought some are more noisy then others, but all new clutches are a bit noisy compared to the week one .

Yea, that's not supposed to happen there. You should be able to start your car first thing in the morning and pretty much sneak out of the house w/o anyone hearing the car run.

Hamburg Technic explains it. Get a real fan clutch, preferably OEM. HT is eBay junk!

you knlow chief ive been on the hunt for wheels for my mtech..and seeing yours made me make up my mind, im gonna hold out for the 19inch mpars ...just pay and wait for em, that is a classy look, the 19s with a huge lip will most definately look sick, but still classy.

not that it matters, im sure ill break a rod long before i ever see wheels on it, horsepower/torque should be illegal..

thanks for makin me laff boss, ive been pissed off over the fan noise for days man
