Clear Bra Spray

Did the clear bra spray on my other car, its very nice and practically invisible. The cost of whole thing is $40 including tape and stuff, worth a try for 1/10 of the price of a vinyl.

Could you use it on the whole hood?

I wanted to get my hood done when I had the front done. They didn't have a wide enough piece of the film and I was worried about the line between the sections showing up.

TIA

You can get 2 cans of this and do the whole hood, trust me it will be worth it for around $50

Def worth the try. Wonder how it will hold up to rock chips.
Just spent $600 for 3M clearbra which includes entire front bumper, head lights and mirrors. Luckily I have one of the best installer in here in Tampa, Fl. Well worth the $600 already. Stupid love bug season.
Thanks for sharing. I'll give it a try on my hood.

Sorry for the hijack.. but...

Dude.. F'ing love bugs... went on a cruise the day they were in full force... it was F'ing disgusting... they were literally everywhere... covered the entire ship...

Sorry again for that, but the reminder of those evil insects gave me shivers and forced me to share that story!

Yikes maybe location, but I spent $800. Entire front fascia bumper, mirrors, first 1/4 of the hood, and headlights (I think??)

Well I'm happy with it, even if I perhaps paid a little on the high side.

Paid $1000 but it included the entire nose of the car. The entire Front Bumper, Entire Front Hood, Both Front Fenders, and the back of the mirrors. I DIDN'T want any lines!!!! Well worth the money if you ask me and the job is impeccable. I drove all the way to Maryland to get it done because a friend of mine from DC had it on his Mercedes SL 550 and it looked so sweet I had to get it. Well worth the money.........

I wonder how it holds up to washing and general cleaning. Sure it's cheap, but it may not be worth the hassle if it lifts or discolors.

i dont know yet about discoloration, they say it will last a year. washing is very easy, the bugs and all just slide off

it does hold up against rock chips, it is mainly designed for that, and they say it lasts for a year

Clear Bra Spray

I think I will try this stuff. I have my mirrors, rocker panels, and 1/4 of my hood already done with the 3m bra. The previous owner removed the front bumper for some reason. I would like to do the bumper. If it is anything like plasti dip it will probably work great. I continue to be amazed by that stuff. I did my sons e90 roof, chrome trim, and spoiler. It turned out amazing for $40 and 6 cans.

I'm curious about this. Can the OP do a test panel somewhere on the car, maybe with before/after photos (Would love to see how clear it dries, preferrably on a dark car)? And then see how easy it is to "peel" it off?)

yes i will do that and take some pics, my 750i has vinyl and is black, so i can compare it to another dark color car and see the difference and also see how easy it is on actual car rather than plastic

yes this is like plastidip in a way, but you cant let it dry, and also there is a fine line between right and heavy coat, mine created a lot of drips because of the wax. so i would suggest just wax only a litte bit and try taking it out as much as possible and have a closed area because fine particles like dust are going to be visible if you park it out on the driveway

Thanks, I think you are on to something here. I like the fact that you can supposedly peel it off (I was never too keen on the clearbras because of cost, permanence, and the fact that a professional needed to apply it to be even decent). Thanks for taking the lead on this Pranav!

Def location and how good the installer is. I've had cheaper here, but not worth the savings.

OP... where can I get this product?

The question is, is it worth all the trouble? Whatever option you choose, it's gonna be visible. And you can't wax it and it won't shine like the rest of the car.

And after awhile if you have accumulated lots of rock chips, you can always repaint the front and have a brand new fresh paint. Costs comparable or slightly more than the clearbra with prof. Installation but I don't think it's an enormous amount of money for a 7series owner..
Just my .99 euro cents

Thats why I'm still satisfied, the level of detail and quality of the installation was fantastic, he was very meticulous in trimming. High price, but the job was worth it. 3M is a pretty trusted company, I'd definitely go the same route for my next BMW.
