Suggestions needed to improve audio in 2010 328i Convertible

This is my 2nd thread to the forum and learning seach function but not there yet.
I have 2010 328i Convertible with the base sound system. I do have the idrive, navigation, sirrus radio and cd/multimedia setup. The speakers and amp sounds terrible.
What suggestions or how should I improve this system? I truly appreciate your help.
John

I have a 2011 convertible 328i

I agree with comments on the stereo and also like to upgrade. Not willing to spend lots of money!

i was given a 2011 328i as arental for a week and the regular stereo was complete garbage for a german car, very disappointing.

my advice turn the bass and treble way down. and think about upgrading speakers.

Put a jl 6/600 amp in with a Technics harness, focal fronts, jenhert subs, and BSW rears. A great ride now with the top down!!

I am in complete agreement with the OP, I have the same BMW and the stereo sound is awful.

Is this easy installation for a novice when it comes to electronics? Also, how much is the cost of all this? Thank you in advance!

You might try Bavarian Soundwerks.

I installed their speaker upgrade in my Z4 and was pleased with the upgrade in sound.

You will have to spend money though and changing the speakers can make it worse
in the lowest level system.

Convertible, you say? BMW straight six happily revving to 7,000 rpm? Well, open the roof for one. Then install performance exhaust. Press accelerator pedal. Grin. Rinse and repeat.

I'm not joking. No music in the car will sound as good as my exhaust after I got PPK for my car. There is no PPK for 328i you'll need PE. After I got that, no radio/CD/AUX for me - just open windows and accelerator pedal.

On the other hand, I do have 5 guitars, 2 amps and semi-serious setup with turntable, NAD amp and KEF speakers at home and hugely enjoy listening to all of those. But in the car? Nothing beats proper use of accelerator pedal ... in my opinion, of course.

Thanks for your help. I found a retro fit HIFI System Alpine article and instructions from BMW. I will provide this link.

Not sure if this is a good fix or not but it looks doable.

Its not inexpensive. going from memory (which is the first thing to go!)

JL amp ~$350, Focal speakers ~$650. plug $90, Bavarian speaker $170, subs $450, miscellaneous another 100. Lots of post on e90post and here to look at and see if your up to it.
