Bumper repair

Someone backed into me tonight and left a scratch/indent on my front bumper. I didn't call the police and he said he would work with me on it. Any idea how much it costs to repair this?

I've had a body shop do a couple bumper jobs but without seeing the damage you have it's hard to estimate your repair costs.

Bumper repair

Best thing to do is get a quote from your preferred body shop - both my repairs to my front bumper cost upwards of $700. It was approximately $700 the first time for paint, supplies and labor just to remove and reinstall. The second time I had the bumper completely replaced, and it was $900 for parts, paint, supplies and labor... but that was covered by insurance. But like I said, it really depends on what your body shop estimates and how severe the damages are.

well from experience, you should have called the police, that way you have documentation that that person is a fault, I hope you got him to sign something that says he is a fault and will repair the damage to your satisfaction. Reason being, once he gets a repair bill of say 2000 dollars, he might get an attitude and then say, I didnt hit your car, do you have a police report?

then it will be up to you to somehow proove it, with a witness or video from the store, If you have a witness or can get the video, they you tell the guy you have store video and can proove it and now its considered hit and run

Hope you dont have any trouble like I did

Thanks for the responses. I am in the process of getting a quote from a body shop. I have the incident recorded on my dash cam, so that should suffice for proof. It isn't a big scatch/dent, think what you see happen when people park by 'feel', but my car has no defects even though being 2.5 yrs old, so I am inclined to get it repaired. If it was my wife's 7 yr SUV I would have laughed it off.....the kids have destroyed that car.
