100,000,000,000,000 miles... I'm joking. I do know MB actually does a millennium service for free on Mercedes benz cars that turn over 1 million miles.
Hell they even did a commercial with MB owners bragging about the age and mileage as a setup for the newer models.
(iirc it was for the 2000 models they did it for)

I'm sure BMW would do the same. But as it stands no record has been noted officially.
Just on forums and some magazines.

Would make a great commercial.

the MB thing is ironic really, the MBs made around them had wiring covered in a plastic made from soy as part of the recycling initive the german government initiated (same reason later M52/M54 and other engines use plastic cooling systems). Very very common for the wiring to degrade and short out causeing all sorts of problems. S class was the most prone, probably just due to more wiring for all the extra features, but E and C class weren't much better. a lot struggled to make it to 160 thousand km's, or 100,000 miles, before dying.

Yeah I know, back when I used to work for MB the service advisors used to make bets on the total amount of cars we'd get in for the day against what they were in for.
number one reigning champion was the SLK. Second was the ML. Third was the C class.
The CLK class and S class cars were always battling for 4th place.
And E class was always 5th place.

All of which were serviced mostly for electrical issues.

The older cars like the w140s, w124s came in for electrical gremlins but at that time they also had their share of mechanicals due to age.

I'd hate to see the betting spread on the later models

Free millennial service? WTF I've seen articles for both Honda and Saab where they gave new cars to the owners of an accord/9000 that reached 1 mill miles

OK, lets be honest here... The wiring was definately an issue for just a few years, about '92-96 or thereabouts. I owned a 1995 G320 that required a new engine wiring harness. It certainly didn't kill the car by 100k miles. I replaced the engine harness in my driveway in about 2 hours. The part was $800 but it ran better than it had for a long time, perfect in fact. I am sure it is still on the road.

It is a problem but, in the states we have tons of old clean high milage Benz vehicles. Lots of cars had the parts replaced and never have any more problems. I am a huge MB fan, never had a bad one, and I have had a few.

That's funny you say that.
Not too many G wagons ever came in unless for bulbs or stupid crap the owners couldn't figure out for themselves.
The worst was a g55 AMG that rolled over.
The owner thought he was in his diablo and tried to take a turn to quickly.

The other side of this is the AMG class rarely showed up in the runway unless the owner was doing scheduled maintenance, they beat the snot out of them making something go south, or they hit something driving like idiots which required mechanical repair.

I tend to like the amg class very much. Sad to say here but if I found a e55 or a cl55 on the cheap with no issues I'd scoop it up in a heartbeat.

But that love is second to the Brabus performance cars.

They give me such a dirty lustful feeling inside.

BTW if you happen to know where that g320 is and its 2 door.... pm me

The 2 doors are incredibly rare, you could count the number of G320 2 doors in this country on one hand and have fingers left. There are few more G320 cabriolets, those are rare and expensive.

This is my old 1984 280GE swb sitting on 35's

I don't know what else to say. I've roughly seen 3 of them. 2 in NYC and 1 here in NJ. Your's makes 4.

My son has approx 170,000 miles on his 1994 525it. I do not have it it in front of me but my records show 164,000 at his last brake job in October 2012.
My daughter has a 2000 Pontiac Aztec which had 213,000 miles the same month when I did her brakes as well on the same day.
The previous owner of Andre's BMW said that he had the automatic transmission replaced while he owned it.
The engine is running strong.
