Just thought it was high time a thread was initiated about how care free my 2 N54's have been with no HPFP issues ever....We are overwhelmed with the "Woe is Me" variety I thought this would be uplifting so speak out and tell the world how much you enjoy your turbo's.

My '13 335 xi has been absolutely flawless.
(Of course it only has 350 miles on it so far.) But hey, srsly, 10 days of undiluted pleasure.

FWIW:
I dumped a about $12 K into my 2000 328 ci towards the end of it's run. Clutch, flywheel, a few sensors, others I can't remember, but literally drove it into the ground at about 140 K.

My '08 535 xi really didn't cost me anything except new tires and a battery.
HPFP and battery cable were under warranty.
sold it six weeks ago with 50K.

But Man, Wow, I dig these cars and I was on the fence between an is and a xi until the very end. Seeing your is sure looks sharp, but I know I'll need the AWD several times a year.

My '11 335is has been flawless. Our '08 535xi has not cost us a dime. The dealer did replace a battery and did HPFP software upgrades under warranty but we have not had any mechanical issues while driving.

'10 335i, 37,000 miles. Battery cable recall, and bank 1 plugs, coils and injectors all replaced under warranty. That's all, folks. No other problems.

The car runs great and strong. Virtual Dyno showed 350 whp and 400 wtq with just a Cobb tune, Cobb FMIC and aFe DCI.

Over the last 6 years at my emission testing station I've seen as many Toyotas, Hondas, and Nissans, including their respective luxury brands, fail emission tests due to malfunctions, as BMW's.

First post here, but I have to chime in here. My experience with BMW has been all positive knock on wood

I have a 2008 335i Sedan and just love this car. Besides bringing it for routine service appointments and I believe one recall(Battery cable) that was fixed during my standard service appointment. I have a total of 43,000 miles on my car and I have never had a problem or failure on this vehicle.

Purchased in late '09, just crossed over 30k. So far...One HPFP, injector banks, valve cover seal, spark plugs, battery cable all replaced under warranty. Dinan3 pkg gets me to 400bhp/440tq. No regrets...but still might go with the extra warranty to 100k for piece of mind as I plan to keep her past the 4yr/50k point.

I can appreciate the op's sentiment. It is easy to get bogged down in just the bad news.

However you got to admire the cajones of a bunch of people with 2-3 year old low-mileage cars singing the praises of BMW reliability.

I see your point "Magic" . Young 335's are not a long term test but IMHO BMW has addressed several issues :fuel pump, turbos, plugs etc. so I think my '12 has a good chance of being somewhat trouble free compared to the first couple of years of the 335i series.

Somewhere along the road these should need the walnut blasting due to the DI setup with all of the carbon buildup happening. Mine runs great but with my x-ray vision I can see it building up every week!

Bought a used 2007 with 41000 km in Feb 2011 with no HPFP issues to report. Dealer replaced 2 fuel injectors (free of charge which is nice, but they got me back by scratching the paint after they washed it) when I took it in for the battery cable recall. Beware of the Dealer carwash!
Admittedly the car mostly gets babied and it gets a yearly service whether it needs it or not. Out of pocket expenses so far are 1 brake light bulb, 1 corona ring bulb and 4 tyres which weren't needed but I found the RFT's insufferable. This car is a keeper.

Its about track record overall. My 2004 330Ci ZHP went 125K miles till spring 2013 & out of pocket exclusive of tires was about $1100. The X3 has been trouble free to date with just the regular free maintenance.

I've bought my 07 335i with 85k on it (risque) and have had it for just shy of a year now. And the only code I've ever had was misfire in cylinder 1, due to spark plug age. I should have known better and done the job when i first got the car. Other than that I can not complain!
