Transmission jumps when stoping

2009 750i, When I come up to a red light or stop sign and nearly come to a complete stop, the car will kick slightly forward. I suspect the transmission. So, I take it to the dealer. There are no codes. They did a software update and told me to come back after a few days. So far this update seemed to cure the kick when stoping. Can this have possibly cured the issue? I'm skeptical.

I've absolutely experienced this too, as there are times when no matter how soft I brake / try to come to a smooth stop, the car has an additional stumble / jerk forward the moment it stops; very disturbing. Strangely, when it happens, IT HAPPENS and at other times, it's intermittent. Otherwise, it's more likely when in Sport mode. I've mentioned it to the dealer once and received their "cannot duplicate concern" bs. If anyone's been able to resolve this please let us know. What a terrible company.

I have a similar experience except it's when I'm accelerating slowly from a stop. There's a noticeable jerk when the gear is upshifting. Intermittent and definitely more pronounced in Sport mode. Same nonsense from BMW... No codes. And still happening after a reset. Haven't seen this on stopping. I read here of similar experience needing to be elevated to regional tech manager. I would just like the issue documented on service several times before warranty runs out. Otherwise, I'm afraid I'll have no recourse.

Any advice out there is appreciated.

Damn, I really hope I am not hunted by this again. I had this problem with my E66. I have yet to have this happen to my F02 but my finger will remain crossed.

I think it is possible for software to cure the issue. But if it doesn't the transmission needs to be replaced.

I can only describe it as some jerk when coming to a stop. Mine had a puma case.

Happened to me. Software fix. Take it in and get tech in the car with you or they will report "can not reproduce"

Sounds like history repeats itself
Its only a matter of time before this forum gets filled with the same types of threads as the e65/6. (Second and third owners) I give it to the start of the new body.

I'm so shocked at all these problems for such an expensive car. These cars for the price should go easily 200k miles without replacing major components such as tranny.
