2011 335d with no warranty !

Hello,
I saw a 2011 BMW 335d with 125,000km and no warranty. It is a wholesale dealer, and they seem to only sell European cars, 75% being late model BMW's and they had a handful of 335d from 2009 to 2011, ranging from an 2009 with 150,000km for $24,000 to a 2010 with 45,000km going for $33,000 loaded up to the max. I am considering the 2011 because of the year. No real options, but have been told the leather is real. Noticed in the rear of the front seats, there were no fish nets like the ones in the 2009-2010 models in the 2011.
This 2011 has been in the market for a long time apparently but all seems well. No accidents, however service is only upto 80,000km in the books. The asking price on the 2011 is $30,000.
One thing I do know is, once I get it, a full service is in order. what do I need to look for in this car ? Thanks

2011 model with 27.9 kmiles should still be in warranty. Ask what its in service date is. You should have 4 yrs from that point on. Look for regular oil changes and the 2 EGR related recalls. One for changing the EGR and the other for updating the programming. If a bmw dealer scans the key fob, they can tell you all of the dealer services that have been done. All oil changes should use the LL-04 designated oil. Your prospective car has about 3,000 miles than mine. I have had near flawless service from mine. The dealer has done once a yr oil changes and i have been doing 1/2 way ones at my expense. I can not let the car go 10 to 12 thousand miles before oil change. Diesels get the oil dirty quickly. No problem with car so far and big smiles from the torque. What did the 2011 retail for? $30k sounds good depending on how much equipment is on car.

We have a separate forum for diesels. Click forums button and scan down about 2/3rds the way. Lots of info there and good people to help you. Good luck.

Actually, there were three: the other was the replacement of the SCR Catalyst and/or parts. Naturally, which parts were changed depended upon the model year. Cuda has mentioned the diesel forum, check the sticky at the top of it for a detailed set of postings about these recalls.

The 335d is a fabulous car.

The car seems to be a basic 335d, which is still well equipped. Don't know if the US still has xenon headlights as optional but here in Canada, they are standard equipment.
What bothers me is its a 2011 being sold at an wholesale dealer, just because of mileage or for some reason a rejected Off lease BMW, they just auction off to wholesalers rather thean sell the car themselves and call it a certified pre-owned.
