89 e34 m30b30 (KO)-> m50b25 swap, temp gauge problem

Hi there,
i need an advice...I swaped engine from 92 e34 m50b25 into e34 89 m30b30 body, change connectors 20pin c101 to 25pin x20. After swap, engine started nicely, but abs, temp gauge and actual fuel consumtion gauge didnt work. Is there anyone who have the wiring, or pinout to these conectors to check it? I looked into the ETM, but i cant handle to solve it - to read in it....
Is it needed to run any new wires ? I tried to change dashbord from the other car, checked the temp gauge earting the singal wire, and it went to redfield, the temp senzor was working in previous car.. I also tried to earth one pin from connector, but gauges move only to blue field, even when the termostat was already open. Do you know, where could be the problem?
Have anybody experience with these?

fuel consumption gauge points 0 when car is moving, and when stays or stops, it points infinity. Nothing between these extremes..

Thanks for help...

I read about coding plug in instrument cluster. Someone said that the coding plug contains informations about car and engine and could cause the problem which i have, if there is some difference...

Now please take this with a grain of salt, but i belive E34 and E30 M20 engines are 100% cross compatible. Now i dont know if M20 and M30 have the same pinout, but they both use a C101 plug so one would assume so. This leads me to say that you may be able to find a few M50->E30 wiring diagrams, and check your connections against those.

Its a round about way to achieve your goal, but it may work??

Ok. If i remember correctly, ABS doesnt go through the C101 plug, so thats an issue somewhere else. Being a 1989, your e34 wont have traction control correct? If not, then the ABS has zero interface with the engine in a stock system. Prehaps you unclipped a plug by accident or something?

Coding plug i believe does not exist on early E34, (thats an E30 thing) because they all had 6 cylinder engines. 518i, 518g and 540i werent invented then. In the E30 setup, it only tells the cluster if its a 4 or 6 cylinder engine, the ECU knows the rest. In the E34 the cluster is actually intelligent and talks to the ecu and back again and can work it all out that way.

Your economy gauge will always have issues. I never got the one in my M52 E30 working either. They arent really essential anyways.

Your temp sensor does go through the C101 plug, so you have a bad connection somewhere. Check continuity between the C101 plug and the plug that connects to the sensor. Check resistance of the sensor itself cold, and put it in hot water and see if resistance changes smoothly. Of those check out, then the issue is in the body loom somewhere or maybe the gauge itself. Both of these seem unlikely if they were going when it had the M30 engine.

Hope this helps

Thanks for help, i really preciate it. ABS thing can wait. I have to fix the temp gauge first...As i said...when i earted the signal wire which ends in the temp sensor, gauge went to the maximum in the interier. Do you know the resistance of the sensor at certain temperature for example at boiling pont to test it? I ve heard, when somebody swap m50 into e30 m20, you need to replace m20 temp sensor instead of m50 sensor. This is not my case, right? Or i have to replace it by the m30 sensor? Ive tried the test the cluster itself everything looks fine.

Another question, i didnt mentioned it but, my fuel senzor doesnt shows right info too..I have about maybe 15 litres in the fuel tank, but it shows 40. During the starting the car, it goes on 45 -55 upper, and then fall down back on 40...i ve replaced whole mangement in the fuel tank...Nothing changed...

thanks....
