No AC No Fan

Long story short:

Wife ran over a tractor trailer tire and it completely destroyed the radiator. Unfortunately this happened the week before we were supposed to move up north. BMW dealer did a quick fix on it and got it to where it would be able to be driven. They replaced the radiator and AC compressor.

We got on the road and 3 hours later AC quit working (still blows but no cold air). Turns out the fan is no longer engaging.

Our first choice is to get the car repaired under our insurance 2nd choice would be to go to the closest BMW dealership (5 hours from where we live).

I would like to troubleshoot the AC/Fan so I can tell them exactly where to start. It was already in a local shop for 4 days and they never even noticed the fan not working(not going back there).

Thanks for any help.

Do you mean the AC fan is not working or the radiator fan is not working? One will make you uncomfortable, the other will break your car

Isn't there only one fan?

The radiator and AC condensor sit on top of each other and only 1 fan pushes air through both.

He's not talking about the cabin AC blower. He stated it still blows air, just not cold air.

OP, check the freon levels. See if there is a leak somewhere. You can also try checking the fuses.

The radiator fan does not blow however the car is not overheating.

There's freon in the system and its charged the right amount but the tech said there was a leak. In my experience the ac will still blow cold but will gradually get warmer as the leak goes on. The car stopped putting out cold air immediately during the drive.

Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting the fan? I checked snowflake fuses 06 77 88 and engine fuses 04, 11, 12, 16, 17, 37, 38, 39, 70, 89

Are there Any others that are related to the aux fan?
