2013 X3 with 12,000 miles

2013 X3 28 i with following features

- Premium package
- Technology package
- Cold weather package
- BMW assist and online

The MSRP comes to $48,000. Dealer is offering for $40,000.

The catch is - the car was used previously as a loaner. Given the risk, I am planning to ask them to CPO the car. At the least, I am planning to push for extra 2 year warranty besides the existing 4 year.

If the above does not work, what are my other options for negotiating a better deal?

Experience negotiating an extended warranty

Has anyone been successful getting an extended (2 year) warranty on the purchase?

I would want another 1000-2000 off and an extended warranty. Try for a tire protection policy with the Extended Warranty.
Don't jump at it. The price seems so-so. Could be a little better. Ask for a free carfax also. Ya never know.
Express an interest but hesitate...let the dealer keep coming back to you. Make an offer that you will be comfortable with.

Does the X1 seem interesting. $40,000 or less might get you a new one with a bit of options

Thank you. The Car-fax looks clean.

I understand that the additional 2 year is not as extensive as the 4 year. Could some one throw light on what is not covered in the additional 2 years ( compared to 4 year warranty)?

Carfax are not alway accurate.
Any extended warranty should be through BMW. No outside companies. I'd want to see the policy in writing before taking or agreeing to one.

That's about $4000 below invoice, not a bad price for a loaner. I think you cannot CPO loaner cars, but double check with your dealer, I am not sure about extended warranty.

That sounds like a good deal to me. I was looking for a used vehicle for a few months. Never found a discount of that much on a vehicle that had the options I wanted. I do like the idea of getting extended warranty with it having been a loaner. That would seal the deal for me.

Never finance with BMWFS, their rates are incredibly high even with what they call "loyalty" allowance. Call your banker and negotiate a better rate.

Sometimes they have 2.99%, which I don't think is that bad. And after you get their loyalty or college grad incentive, you can always refinance right away.

2013 x3s are 0.9% this month , if I am not mistaken. Otherwise, I agree with ealeisa.

I ended up leasing, I was under the impression that it was 0.9 across the board back in June, July changes, I ended up losing $250 of loyalty by waiting into July.

We closed the deal on this X3 for the dealer quoted price. For some reason, dealer would not budge a penny after a week of negotiation. Nevertheless, wife and I are happy over the buy.
Will have to shell out on extended warranty in about 3 year time period.

Thank you all for your inputs!
