Automatic Trunk not going down

When I press the button for the trunk to go down, It just sits idle and I hear the motor going but it does not drop/close.

What could be the problem and how much is the repair cost?

Something may be binding. Try some WD-40. Do a search...several hav had trunk issues:

Don't use WD-40. Use a lithium grease or at least a silicone based grease. Silicone tends to make squeaking noises though.

WD-40 will eventually dry thing out.

+2....I don't even know why I said that. I do use wd-40 for all kinds of stuff but yeah...there are much better options.
