Rain leaked in car. Need help.

So we took the long drive from texas to north carolina. And of course the first night it was a massive thunderstorm and i go to get in my car the next day and there is a 1inch pool of water on my passenger side floor. I havenever noticed this problem but of course it never rains in texas. I think it is coming in my front window so i am going to call safelight out to reseal the window. Is this a common thing and is there something else to check? Thanks for the help.

By front window, I assume you mean windshield. If your windshield is original and no cracks in it, it is highly unlikely it's leaking through it. In most cases the leaks are due to drains being clogged up. There are several drain lines (hoses) that allow the water to drain "through" the car. There are 4 for the sunroof, and several others. When one of them gets clogged up, it often allows the water to seep into the cabin. I would check that first.

The problem with common sense is that it's not very common.

2010 335i, ZSP, ZPP, M-Sport, Le Mans Blue, 3 pedals of course!

Cobb AP Stage 1 Aggressive + | Cobb FMIC | BMW Performance Exhaust

To update everyone. Took it into the shop and turns out it was the hoses that drain my sunroof. Put an air hose in them cleaned all out now and drains water great.

Glad it was as simple as that. From now on you can do it yourself. Once a year will be sufficient to keep 'em clean and flowing.

Once you find the hoses you can clear them with a metal clothes hanger. It's a pain, but doable (i've done it on my previous Maxima)
