Im hated...

Since getting a 3 series convertible every time I drive with the top down I seem to get into some incident. People racing me, people driving up my ass because I went round them, brake testing me on the highway, honking or shouting things... what is the issue? I drive ok, sometimes im a douche sure, but in general im ok... its so bad that last night a honda CR-Z wanted to race me.

I dont recall this in any of the previous drop tops ive owned....

It's all in your head. I think everybody knows convertibles weigh more and accelerate slower.

I don't hate you. Feel free to share the road.

I used to get people trying to race me when I drove my ZO6 but not so much anymore. Now, I just get people trying to park next to me, even when I'm parked away from everyone and have to walk quite a distance to get to where I'm going.

No problems here with my E93 but they are _everywhere_ here. I see several every day

Had a dumbass in an E90 try to race me in my Miata a few weeks back. Enjoyed jumping off from the green light for a fraction of second then reverting to normal myself.. he screamed away lol. I think the rollbar and aftermarket wheels on the MX-5 attracts bozos but it does not happen too often. I do tend to troll tailgaters into taking corners way too fast for their skills Had someone end up on the grass once as they were tailgating my Prius into a corner that has a crazy early apex-line - I did not use the brakes and started accelerating just as they should have been braking... they'll think twice before riding someone's ass again

I have not had this problem on my E90 sedan. My E46, however, used to sometimes attract this type of behavior, when it was newer. People on the freeway pulling in front of me, then slowing down, forcing me to try and pass, and speeding up when I start to go around. They were often riced-out Hondas with spoilers and big exhausts.

So what caused this type of behavior? I am not really sure. I think it had something to do with my car being a BMW. But my E46 is a plain white sedan, with factory stock wheels and tires, and no spoilers or added-on bodywork of any kind. So beyond the Roundel emblem, I am at a loss to explain this behavior by some other drivers. I am typically a conservative driver on public roads.

So, maybe your problem is the giant grin on your face, as you are driving your BMW. Perhaps you could look a bit more miserable?

I was working on trying to organize my garage today as a matter of fact, including stacking three complete sets (3X4) of snow tires mounted on wheels and 3 spare tires. I put cardborad between each as I stacked them. They appear stable, and if not, my wife's 535xi is toast.

I was never a big fan of black wheels either but they were part of the GTS model. They are starting to growing on me as they seem to work because of the rim being silver.

Not really... I know I am not the best driver in the world hence my tongue n cheek comment about driving like a douche sometimes but im not bad - 99% of the time I am doing nothing to warrant the issues.

Sorry it has been posted before, it was just a light hearted thread about my personal observations - I don't have issues in my other car (5.0 convertible) or in the 135 I had before.

I know everyone else on the road think they are the best driver but in the 3, with the roof down, my car is a t*@t magnet and its the wrong kind of t*@t im attracting.

I live in Georgia and I get challenged often by rednecks in Camaros, Mustang GTs and such, and by kids in their rice burners with fart cans. This is what I usually do:
