BMW E65 750li 2006 LM1 to LM2 question

Hello you guy.
After spending lot of time for research. i found out..

FROM LCI car..u doesn't need to swap pin like people said. It bull****..

if u look at the wiring diagram. PIN 17 not use. PIN 60 is the led light to the light switch...even if u doesn't swap it still work ok. Just lost the light.

here is the pic i did it. I did it with ISTA P and NCSexpert.

from PRE LCI car, it have AHL module. Old LM module doesn't have AHL build inside it. SO u need to WIRE it again. or all of your i Level will ** up. Take old AHL out. LM2 have build in AHL inside it.
U can check a proper install by ISTA P recognize it or not. IF it not recognize well mean your installation have a problem. Vertical light AHL can't go up and dow... xxxx

video Welcome light...

Are there anyway i can fit LM2 in my E65 750li so i can have DRL as angel eye and welcome light.

Thank you so much.
you should only need to install & swap pin 17 - 60 .
then write VO & code to the features you want .

According to TIS you only need to swap 1 wire if your car was built 03/2003 or older and you are installing a newer LMA module.

well I have installed an LM2 in an 05 & I still had to to swap PIN 17 & 60 , So his
dates don't actually mean anything . It all depends on the car itself .

With that said maybe you can ask him about the V.O.
I'm done helping out for the day ...

I used this as a guide:
http://www.bmwcoding.com/showthread....LM1-to-LM2-E60

Though I started with Step 8 to code the VIN, then went to update the VO (Vehicle Order) which is called "FA" in NCSExpert, and finally coded the LM2.

I just installed the LM2 and haven't played with any custom coding yet...

LM2 Upgrade

I am trying to upgrade my LM1 to LM2. I bought what I thought was the correct module on eBay labeled as LM2 LWR type but instead it came as an AHL version. I have a 2005 E66 with self leveling xenon which is not the same as the newer adaptive headlight so I think it isn't compatible. Before I search for the correct one I was wondering if anyone knows if it can be coded properly for non AHL. Part is 61359137776 and I think I need 61359153272, 61359154943, 61359180756, 61359192641, or 61359203081. Anyway, I connected it, wrote the VO, changed the VIN, defaulted it to my VO but the side marker lights don't work and I am getting several errors on INPA that I can't clear.

@rippjd : is ISTA P recognize your LM2 module?
that is the most i'm concern.
i did LM2 in E60 then when i use ISTA P it said replace LM2 and all the module.

If you don't have adaptive headlights "AHL" (SA524 = No), I would think your module which supports AHL just would have that option turned off. You just wouldn't use that hardware portion of the LM2. I do see ETK has a different part list for the non-AHL LM2, as you've listed above.

I have AHL and picked up a used 61359203081 which shouldn't support AHL, but as I have a pre-facelift car my AHL and LWR are both controlled by a separate module behind the glove box. Note that this separate module is called the ALC.

Below are the settings I used. I haven't experimented to confirm all are necessary. Translations curtesy of NCSDummy.
With these settings the Welcome Lights include; Angel eyes, side position lights in 4 corners (North America only), rear LED taillights & license plate lights. They illuminate for about 20 seconds. You do need to have the headlight switch in the AUTO position for the Welcome Lights to work.

Hi nguyenhatquang, sorry to bump up an old thread, but have you managed to get the cornering light and DRL with angel eyes? I just installed a LM2 to my 2005 E65, managed to get welcome light working, but not the other two. Would you be possible to send me your trace file so that I can see what's missing? Thank you very much.
