Exclamation Navigation Problem

Here's what's going on with the BMW. I recently removed the nav disc player from the trunk so I could get a better look at the factory amp. Well during the reinstall I thought it would be a good idea to remove the nav disc... now the player won't take the disc back in.... Is there a certain procedure to make the unit accept the disc? (vehicle must be running, etc.) Or is she broke??

At what point did you actually remove the disc from the unit? You say 'during the reinstall' - did you have the battery disconnected during the removal process?
In order to remove the disc, you must have had power to the unit; I am assuming that the battery was connected (sorry if it's a statement of the blindingly obvious) when you tried to reinsert the disc.
The ignition key must be at Position I or II; you should see the Power light on the face of the nav player. If there is no power light with the key at I or II on then check to make sure you plugged everything back in properly. Check the fuse on the unit itself.
