Cool e34 front seats come apart ?

I have 2 extra front seats and I'm trying to separate the seat cushions and the seat backs. I bought one and it came as a back and a seat, the two parts clicking together,
to reassemble. I emailed the guy and he said there are 2 strong spring loaded levers which compress to release the seat back from the bottom. so far I have pushed and tried everything I can think of. Does anyone have any ideas or experience getting these apart ?

Here you go from your's truly:

Racing seats mounted on the power frames

Though it speaks of a comfort seat conversion. The write up I did gives you a good idea of how to dismantle the seat safely.
