Input on best way to sell my 335

Unfortunately, since I am buying a house, my car is a victim of circumstance. What would be quickest and best way to sell?

Craigslist is usually good. I sold my wife's '94 325i in 48 hours.

Selling on Craigslist is exponentially harder the higher the price. Auto trader and cars.com get more buyers above $15k.

OP, if you're rushing to sell a car you're probably not ready to buy a house. Why does it matter if you sell a car? DTI? Cash? Plan better.

Its a long story, but the short of it is DTI. Its a second home and this is what I am willing to sacrifice reluctantly.

Have had good experiences buying and selling on Autotrader ..... CarMax offer will depress you but it does set the floor.

craigslist works for me every time. I've sold and bought well over 25 different vehicles and i made profit on 95% of the cars i bought and then sold later on. I get bored of cars really fast.

It depends on the area. On the East Coast, Craigslist has more of a garage sale/ghetto reputation and people don't shop there as much for high dollar items. I attempted to list a car for $15.5K and had 0 serious hits, but one guy that called asked why the heck I was trying to sell a car at that price on Craigslist. Price was fine, after listing on Autotrader I got a bite from the subsequent buyer in the first 3 days.

I also sold some cheap cars ($2500-$4K range) on CL and those were fairly easy to find buyers for.

i agree, the majority of the buyers looking at on craigslist are cheap and want to lowball you. When i post an ad i clearly put a firm price and there are still buyers who lowballs me. For example: 1 of my ad states the price is firm at $25k and i get offers like $20K cash right now? I just laugh and ignore them

Hey twhisten,

Sorry to hear she has to go but you can always get another in the future.
Be interesting to hear back how the Dinan3 pkg impacts sale price. I would print out the Car & Driver 335i Dinan3 article for any prospective buyer to read, as it really highlights the uniqueness and attributes of the car when outfitted with the Dinan mods(compared to every other 335i out there for sale).

As for where to place the ad, I'd go everywhere plus any BMW enthusiast websites you can find. As for my own experience, I sold my old 328i on Craigslist with no probelm, local sale, face to face worked good for me as the car showed well (especially after a nice detail)...as I'm sure yours does too.

Best of luck.
