Smile Bmw 316D 2010

Hey

Im new to the BMW forum and just got a couple of question about owning and driving a bmw 316D 2010 ish model.

Pardon my english , im from Norway

I'm Considering buying a bmw 2010 316D with lots of accesoriers and im coming from a Audi/subaru community, reason i want to change i want a car that feels comfortable, little bit sporty but also a ok fuel consumtion.

How are they to drive over a longer period of time and owning it, but when it comes to service and maintance , in general basic.

We also got lots of winter here so im curious , i know its not a 4x4 but will it drive trough most roads that its winter covered decently ?

Thank you

Your English is fine.

Many US people here, don't know much about the 316d model, also our cars are optioned quite differently than those in EU - even our "base" 328i models have more equipment than most EU cars. On the UK website, all ours are SE level and above. You might try UK/Eu focused forums.

Auxiliary equipment is one of the problems on modern cars. BMWs need maintenance, but I don't think they're worse than Audi, Mercedes, VW.

I believe that snow tires are required in Norway (and much of EU including Germany); I use Bridgestone LM26 on mine, others use Michelin Pilot Alpine, but you can probably go less expensive to Michelin xIce or other non-speed-rated snow tires which have better grip yet. Since these cars have "equal" weight distribution with 50% of the weight on the rear, they're not as bad as older RWD cars for winter traction.
