My new ride awaits! ........for a ship.

Well, I finally decided to live a little and bought the car I have always wanted (BMW). After months of research and struggling with choices I picked the following options. I wish BMW would not have all these packages and just have all options available so we could have less sleepless nights while we are picking out our 50k cars! LOL

335i M Sport

Alpine White/ Black Leather

Driver Assistance Package
•Park Distance Control
•Rear-view camera

Dynamic Handling Package
•Variable sport steering
•Adaptive M Suspension

M Sport
•Highlight trim finishers pearl gloss chrome
•Shadowline exterior trim
•Aerodynamic kit
•Anthracite headliner
•Sport seats
•M steering wheel

Premium Package
•Comfort Access keyless entry
•Lumbar support
•Satellite radio with 1 year subscription

Technology Package
•Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration
•BMW Apps - iOS and Android
•Advanced Real-Time Traffic Information
•BMW Online
•Navigation system w/ touchpad
•Instrument cluster with extended contents
•Remote Services
•Head-up Display

Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles

Dark Burl Walnut wood trim

Harman Kardon surround sound system

OK, so this past Saturday (7/13) it said production was complete and my car is waiting for a ship. I would like to know if anyone can tell me if there are ways to find out what ship the car will be on and how to track the ship. Also, would anyone happen to know when the next ship is leaving for the US? I live in Texas and assume it would dock on the East coast. I can hardly wait to drive my new ultimate driving machine!

Was it built in Germany or S Africa? I have a 335i xDrive that was completed on 7/8, in SA, and currently waiting to be put on a ship.

I also have a 335i xdrive at the port in SA waiting a ship. Got there yesterday I think. If you figure out what ship we're on please post in this thread. Thanks.

Will do

This may have been posted elsewhere on a different thread, but does anyone have a link to the shipping schedules from SA?

I think you can tell from the VIN, but I am not sure what to look for.

Says on the window sticker. Most 3 series cars are typically either South Africa or Germany. It will state the final assembly.

Look up VIN # description/decoder in a Search and it tells you where it was built. The first letter is "W" means built in Germany.

No, W means BMW AG. Look for an N in the 11the digit for South Africa. Munich is A, F, and another letter, maybe K.

Not funny. 10 years ago I factory ordered an RX-8 and it seemed to take forever and when I finally got a delivery date it ended up being on a train that derailed and I went back to square one.

My car supposedly arrived at Bremerhaven at 7:30 AM on July 15th. Is there a way to tell now, if it made it onto the Liberty, which was due to depart on that day? The folks at BMWNA have not been of much help with this.

Unfortunately, not too likely. If it arrived 3-4 days earlier, maybe. Wallenius Wilhemsen has a website where you can track your car by VIN but some cars are shipped by other shipping lines.

Excellent choice on color combo. I have the same Alpine White with Black Leather but Haxagon trim. Mine is 2011. My lease is up am going for a 2014 Alpine White with Coral red Interior. Been debating the EBII, but not quite sure.

Enjoy the car.

I ordered EII Blue and switched last minute. Glad I did! Different. Vehicle should be completed today for production and hoping it gets on a boat quickly instead of collecting dust. Come on baby!!!
