85 528e basic part identification help

I was trying to replace the AC compressor belt but you have to remove another belt to get to it. I couldn't replace the ac belt (won't fit, I need that bmw belt tool) but I still want to drive it. The kicker is I stripped the teeth on the tensioner bracket for the belt in front of the ac compressor. I need to replace the part but I don't even know what it is called so I can order it. If you can tell me what it is that would be an incredible help. The first two pictures are from the bottom and the last is from the top.

If you can help a BMW and mechanical newbie that would be wonderful. My grandmother's ghost would appreciate seeing her BMW back on the road too.

Always search and order by part number. Here some important links: www.RealOEM.com and http://www.furiousmethod.com/ When you have determined exactly what part you need, enter the number in the furiousmethod search box and lots of parts suppliers' websites will pop up. Some of those are bimmerfest sponsors, so keep that in mind when buying
parts for your car.

So you stripped the teeth off of the tensioner for the power steering. You can buy one from bavauto for around 16 dollars.

Get a Robert Bentley E28 repair manual - http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=38286
http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=118640

Factory repair manual is here - http://www.bmwtechinfo.com/repair/main/137en/index.htm

With the belt tensioners, you want to loosen the nut first, so there is sufficient space on the head side of the bolt that the teeth on the adjusting bar or idler are not damaged.

Parts prices shown are not entirely accurate - http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...12&hg=32&fg=15

The alternator has a similar set-up - http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...80&hg=12&fg=21
