OBD2 port not working

Hi All,

I have a 2012 BMW 3 Series touring 318d (E90).

I have purchased a new device online that reads the OBD 2 port of the car and gives digital information like Speed, RPM etc.

I have located the OBD2 port location (corner of the driver seet, near the legs, near the door). I connect the device using the OBD2 socket and the device shown power. But I get no other information even if I start the vehicle.

I would liek to know if there is soemthing more I need to do before I say that the device i purchased is faulty. Is it the right OBD2 port I am connecting to? Do I have to enable something before I get all the OBD2 data from the car?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Information on the device I am using:

regards

Are you running a tune on the car? Some disable access to the OBDII port.
