Mein Auto: BMW E90 320i Msport Sedan
Bmw e90 320i -> 325/330i

I have the 320i (N46B20) Msport but i want some more power. I got the car _very_ cheap so im not going to buy a original 325/330i. I will get well under the price of a original car because of the price i got it for. So please no answers like - "Just buy a car with the engine in it" etc. Thank you

My question is what is the difference on a 320-330i? I basically want the non-turbo/M3 engines because of the extra hassle with the turbo stuff and M3 will be too much. What is needed to get it up and running?

- Engine
- ECU
- Full Exhaust

How different is the brakes and the rest under the car? As i want a complete swap.

- Complete Brakes?
- Dampers and springs?

I guess everything else under there is the same?

Is there more im forgetting?
Would be great if someone actually did this swap and could give me some solid info on this.

So you bought a 320i because it was 'cheap', now you want to place a 325i/330i engine in it? What the actual crap is going on here?

When you get it for half the price what they usually cost, you buy it^^, But im not used to have anything under 2.5litre, and this reminded me why again

I understand the reasoning for it, but why wouldn't you just save a bit more cash, and get a car that has the engine/options you want, instead of going about trying to make a car something it was never meant to be. A little odd, but what do I know.

I'll say.

You're probably better off finding a semi-totaled (I'm not talking about buying an obliterated car, just one that someone is parting out) 330 for parts and starting there, as opposed to buying all brand new parts.

Engine wise you're probably looking at between 2.5-4K depending on where you are/who's selling/condition and age, etc.

Wear and tear items like shocks, springs, struts, brake parts (rotors, pads) you could probably go without unless you really want to do an entire overhaul, in which case I'd try www.oembimmerparts.com for solid pricing, as well as checking tisher and turner motorsports. Exhaust wise, the 330 DOES have a slightly different exhaust (it's a bit louder), I'd honestly just grab the BMW Performance Exhaust for under a grand.

The 3-stage intake of the 330 would make a great upgrade no doubt, if you're wanting to stay away from turbos as you stated.

Well 335i would be too much as i want the car road legal and want it approved by the right instances. And, in norway we pay like 170$ per HP increase in tax - so going from a 129/150hp engine to 306hp will be more than its worth imho. But ofc a 330i would be what i want if i could choose. Put a compressor on that after a while and i think we got a winner^^,
