Help with 2014 550xi ED Pricing

Hi all,

This is such a great site! I've done a ton of research here so far and, honestly…I've worked myself up into a FRENZY!

I'm going to shoot for an accelerated timeline, and try to get a ED date around the last week of September - first week of October (fingers crossed!).

I am after a 2014 550xi. I know I want the following packages/options:
Cold Weather
DHP
Luxury Seating
MSport
Premium
Tech

Sport Auto Trans
Ceramic Controls
Power Rear Sunshade
Soft Close Doors
Premium Hi-Fi

I have some pricing Q's that I'm hoping this wonderful board can give me some clarity on:

The BMW official build my car site - is that 2013? Or, 2014 Pricing?
The BMWConfig.com site - it does not look like this has 2014 prices…actually says 2013. Is that right?
How do I find/estimate the 2014 ED Invoice Price for my car to be? Can one of you share pricing with me?

I'm so looking forward to this?

I spent the day with my kids driving a couple 2013's at a local dealer…wow. The 550 Msport that they let me drive was SOOOOOO Cool! It really took some time to feel as excited about driving my 2004 545 Sport/Premium/Cold car as it normally does

By the way…the '04 545 is For Sale!

Thanks in advance!

Frank

Help with 2014 550xi ED Pricing

Bump.

I'm hoping I can get some insight on pricing today or tomorrow, and work a deal prior to Wednesday. Any thoughts good people?

Help with 2014 550xi ED Pricing

Your best bet would be to ping one of the West Coast sponsors for a deal, then plan a little road trip to Cali for re-delivery. Jon Shafer @ Santa Barbara, Justin @ New Century, or Greg @ Pacific.

You can get close to finding MY14 Invoice through extrapolation of MY13. Use bmwconfig and the MY14 pricing guide for ED MSRP, then go from there.

As an example, my 535d MSRP is $74725 (US retail), sale price before incentives, etc is $65075 (about ED invoice).. Options are ZMM, ZCW, ZDA, ZDB, ZLP, ZLS, ZPP, 2TB, 323, 415, 416, 5DP, 688

Good luck!

ED P/U - 09/13/2013
ED D/O - X1 (09/15), 535d (09/21)
REDELIVERY - X1 (10/31), 535d (11/4)

When i priced out my '14 550 for ED i used the pricing guide to build the car and get the MSRP. click here That will give you a ballpark figure to work with and ensure you are building the car with the correct options.

Then i contacted one of the board sponsors (Adrian at BMW South Atlanta, since i live in ATL) to put together the official build and get a price. I ordered the car, and within a few days had my delivery date. Pretty easy process.

BTW, Oktoberfest starts Sep 22 i believe. Not sure if you are trying to be in Munich or not during that time.

My local dealership (Gebhardt in Boulder, CO) has always been great to me. I'd like to give them my business. However...I do love a good road trip! Throw a helping of 'low hassle', peace of mind that my order was done right, and a fair deal - that sounds very compelling!

Do these guys reach out to me directly, or do I need to contact them? I suppose there is contact info for them on the board somewhere, right?

If any of you sponsor dealers are reading this, please do pm me!

Thanks!

I'll try to do some more work on the configurators...they just aren't giving me much confidence that I'm doing this right/getting the right 2014 numbers.

Yes! Octoberfest and hopefully decent enough weather for a 'Ring day after some break-in are definitely the goal (Como region for my wife too!).

I suggest contacting Josh Douglas at Elmhurst BMW in suburban Chicago. It one of the top rated dealerships in the US. Josh has lots of Euro Delivery experience. He was able to get the ultra-cool leather top of dash for Shiltsy and me. You should mention the Paul Harding Group Buy and he will cut right to $500 over Euro Delivery Wholesale which is the best deal anywhere.

Stroll over to the Ask A dealer forum. Just read through the first few posts and I am sure you will find responses from Greg, Justin and Jon which have their contact info in their siggy.

More great advice…I did reach out to a couple, and already have a response from one. This is such a great community.

We'll see how far we get talking with my local CA tomorrow. I hope he goes for my offer. It would be great to just bang it out tomorrow and move on (I'll let you all know)!

I don't mind you asking. Not at all! Actually, he accepted my offer so quickly that I wonder if I screwed something up!

Here's what I will order:
2014 550i xDrive
Exterior Color: (A52, A83 or A90) Space Grey (or, if available, perhaps Glacier Silver or Dark Graphite -- I have not yet seen these colors!)
Interior: Ivory White, Anthracite (LZET) - OR - Mocha, Dark Wood (LZMW)
M Sport: 351M 19" Wheels with Performance Run-Flat Tires (2ND)
Cold Weather (ZCW)
Dynamic Handling (ZDH)
Executive (ZEC)
Lighting (ZLP)
Luxury Seating (ZLS)
Sport Auto Trans/Paddles (2TB)

I included $925 D/H +$500.00 for a grand total of $71,248.00

Would one or more of you take a look at this and tell me if I screwed something up?

In my head, I think I got a more than fair deal: $71K for an $82K (MSRP) Car!

Looks like a pretty solid deal to me. Does that figure include incentives, etc or will you be able to stack on top of the agreed price?

Congrats!

I guess that is the piece that gets me a little queezy - I didn't dig into what incentives may be in play with this deal. How do I do that?

If you agreed to a price of $71 most likely thats the final number, what other number would you negotiate? If you go back and ask for incentives now too you are really changing the deal. How hard you push that is really up to you and your own view of ethics.

Looks right to me, and it looks like the $1000 loyalty credit available for the 5er is already included to get that price. Congrats on the 550xi!

Help with 2014 550xi ED Pricing

I went in to place a deposit, give my dealer a copy of our passports and check the build to insure everything was as requested...turns out I caught a few issues!

I'll start small and Finnish with the biggie:
Wheels were ordered with all season tires instead of the performance Run-Flats.
Looks like Dark Wood trim may not be order able with Mocha Leather.
...and now for the biggie: the left off DHP!!!

No wonder they were so quick to accept my order!!!

My CA took it like a man though! A look of "oh, Crap!" for sure, but not a word to me about renegotiating, or anything like that. They just made it right.

I still think my deal was fair - just not quite as fair as 'they' thought it was originally!

Oh, I did get a production number. No delivery date yet, but a production number!

Done. For those who want to know, I did the car at ED invoice + $925 + $1,000. I feel good about it!

Now I guess I wait for my delivery date, plan and obsess over this whole thing!

So excited!
