2010 E90 A/C not working properly

I bought a CPO 2010 328i xDrive about 2 months ago, and from day one the A/C has been crappy.

My friends Mazda 3 A/C works better than mine. Even the A/C in my moms 2003 beat up Camry is better mine.

I have turned the knob all the way towards blue and set the temperature at 60F and even at MAX, it makes a lot of noise but the A/C itself isn't all that great.

Is this is a common issue, or is it just me?

I'm still covered under the original 4 year/50,000 mile warranty. Should I take it into a BMW dealer to get it checked out? If I do, will they charge me?

I always use AUTO. Works best for me. But it's a bit loud.

My 09 took a long time to get cold, and if I were sitting idle at all, the air would start to warm up again. I took it into the dealer and they fixed it all under warranty. I didn't pay a dime, and they even gave me a new X3 to drive around while it was getting fixed. So to answer your question, yes, take it in and have it fixed. More than likely it will be covered under warranty. I would recommend making an appointment if you need a loaner car. If you just show up, they may not have a loaner car to give you.

Neither. It's your particular car.

Is there something inhibiting you from complaining? Mighty warm out - I would.

Thanks guys. I'll take it in and have them take a look at it.

Can I take it to any BMW dealership, or do I have to take it the one where I bought the car? Since this is a CPO, I don't know if it works different.

Any dealership will honor the OEM or CPO warranty. Bimmers are pretty finicky re the amount of refrigerant in the system, so either an under or overcharge can seriously hurt cooling performance.

A reading of this board leads me to suggest to you to tell your dealer " My AC is not working .... my wife is hot!"

Some who have taken their car to the dealer under warranty and requested "please check my AC" have been advised of a diagnostic fee

Hey, even if the OP's wife is average looking he should get the SA to check the AC system.

OP, set the AC to Max cool, but then back the fan speed off to about 25-33% of full speed. Close the side vents. Make sure the center vent dial is set to full blue. Rev the engine to 1500 rpm.
After about a minute, what is the temperature an inch inside the center vent? What is the approximate outside temperature and humidity? Is the sun shining on the dashboard (through the windshield)?
You tell me that and I'll tell you if the AC system is working properly.
