CPO E92 335is vs F32 428i

Hi all, long time lurker of the forums, and now I am ready to take the plunge. I am debating between a F32 428i or a loaded CPO 2011 E92 335is with 15k on the clock. I'm gauging it against the 335is because of it's around the same ballpark in terms of price.

In your opinion, which would you choose? If any of you have gone through the BMW CPO path, can you please shed light on your experience.

What I look for in a car:
1) Driving dynamics
2) In cabin tech

Will I regret not getting the latest and greatest that BMW has to offer?

Thank you all in advance for the help =]

Pluses for the 335is: bugs are worked out and you'll go faster than the 428. Minuses for the 335is: not the latest model.
Pluses for the 428: new model with more whiz bang stuff. Minuses for the 428: bugs probably not worked out (see F30 posts for rusted seats and wind noise issues) and slower than the 335is.

Me? I'd go with the 335is, but that's me. I personally wouldn't buy a car I haven't taken for a test drive, so that would leave the 428 out.

Does the engine configuration mean much? the 428i will be a 4 cylinder turbo. The 335is still an inline 6 turbo.

The IL6 just feels different. If that means anything to you, then you have your answer.

While the 335is will be slightly faster, the question you really have to ask yourself is, do you want to buy something that is outdated as soon as you buy it? Most E9x owners will pick faults with the F3x or say people can't tell the difference to make themselves feel better about having an old product, but you'll almost know inside when you pull up next to a shiny new F3x with the new features and ESPECIALLY the more up to date interior. And that is now, imagine how outdated your E9x will be when you need to get rid of it...

I would recommend you take a look at a current E46, if you are okay with the level of equipment and interior appointments, then you're probably okay with the E92. For many people it's hard to be happy with a E46 interior after driving E92 loaners for a while. Samething will happen when you get an F32 loaner and return to your E92 at the end of day.

You'll probably be better off getting a 435 and get the best of both world, power and features.

I have a 335is and have no interest in trading it for a 435i. The only car that may make sense as a replacement is the upcoming M4. But, that will remain to be seen when I can take an actual test drive.

Wait till the 428i is available for a test drive and has been reviewed by credible automotive sources.

I am hoping it is better then the current F30 328i. Because if it is anything like the current F30 I would say jump into a E92 335is and never look back if you desire driving dynamics.

I think the new upcoming M235i with an LSD would become a viable alternative to 335is, the M4 will be a definite upgrade

You are in a similar situation to me. My lease is up in Feb so I hope to be able to drive the 428 and 435 (weird typing that.. haha).

I am thinking of the 428i xdrive but I cant' get over that 4 cylinder engine. I drop it in the X3 loaner I had. It's not a bad engine, I just can't get over the sound.

I might end up buying my car at the end of my lease actually. I would go with the 335is if the 435i is out of the question.
