Faboch or Jitsjaf,

can one of you snap a pic of your oil lines to the engine mounting bracket. I think i have them reversed. Want to make sure they are on correctly from the oil cannister to the mounting bracket.

I thought i had a good pic of them before i pulled them from the bracket but i dont...

Crossover tube question

The metal tube that runs in front of the water-pump, where does it go under the l/s of the motor?. I seem to have an exhaust leak there but it under the motor kinda behind the alt.I do see 1 bolt but how does it affix?

Not much more I can do on the actual engine until its back in the car.
Gotta get my tab on the tranny mount welded after I cracked it.
Drive Shaft goes to shop for center bearing replacement . 57.50 to have that done.

So this weekend is engine compartment cleaning weekend. and shrink tube some exposed wires in there.

This ought to be a dirty weekend with the car. LOL

Pics to follow...

99-01 have a secondary airline pipe made of alluminum...It is held by 1- 10mm bolt on either side...Its tuff to get to..Fan shroud, move the expansion tank to the side with the hose connected(so u dont have to loose coolant there)
Disconnect #8...Leave the end of the hose connected to the Alt ON

You must also remove the fan off the fan clutch or unless u have a fan clutch removal tool then do that... Remove the upper radiator hose...You`ll lose coolant so refilling and bleeding is imperative... Then remove the 2= 10mm bolts...Then the pip POPS off...the ends of the PIPe is held into the engine block with O-rings...They are prolly shot...if so replace the o-rings..or do what I did...To make sure I had no more leaks I USED RTV on the ends of the pipe and popped the pipe back on with the 2- 10mm bolts...My codes went away as well as the exhaust type smell inside my cabin ..Gone was the ENGINE Service light too
The codes assocciated with secondary airline LEAKS are P1492 and P1491...any other codes ur digging in the wrong location....On side NOTE the exhaust headers Bolts Do come LOOSE over time...tighten them....Might be an easy fix but getting to all exhaust header bolts are a SOB

A little prelim fitting on the drive belt..put the radiator hoses on.being ill be loading this baby thru front end of the car.not in thru top....power steering pump mounted and new hoses installed..new ps pulley as well installed..realized i had the wp pulley mounted wrong.flipped that around..cleaned the ribs of the harmonic balancer with wire brush..lots of caked in rubber in there..all cleaned up.ps pump is degreased and cleaned up.. Engine bay has been prelim degreased..gotta hit it again..redid some cladding on a few wires that were exposed...fairly productive day...

Black headers looks good but for perforance sake , since u have it out still., WRAP those babies up with some headers wrap....Keeps the engine bay cooler

Faboch, I cranked down on the right side bolt. That was the one I loosened erroneously while removing the water pump. The leak all but went away. But it's still there. No codes and with windows up, you do not hear it. But the only leak point has got to be the o-ring in the l?s tube. I guess once I finally get tired of the leak, I'll just have to remove it. But for now, at least for this week the windows are up and the stereo is a-rockin'!
Thanx you.

Well, transmission is at the office. Mobile welder is coming out to fix the busted mounting tab for me. Gonna see if he can tack weld a nut on the filler screw for the tranny.Apparently the torx grooves are stripped out.. So it would be nice to get into the tranny to fill it. LOL...

We'll see what he says...
