94 325is- E36 help with vacuum hose name?

Hi guys !
I need help identifying the name of the hose that I am pointing to with a screw driver in the picture and probably the function if possible.
I was checking my hoses today and found out that the hose at the bottom was damaged...I just put a plastic hose until tomorrow.

Yes. ANY vacuum leak will adversely affect the running. It introduces unmetered air into the system. The ECU meters fuel according to how much air it thinks is going into the engine. With a vacuum leak the engine runs lean, since the air/fuel ratio is off.
