Brake Q

I've noticed if I stop rather hard, when I let off the brakes pedal, the car kinda jerks forward a little. Like instead of the calipers opening up gradually, they pop open....releasing the car! This is also with the AC on, and idle is a little higher. Doesn't alway happen. I saw a thread about why not to purchase the car. The OP mentioned driving in traffic and coasting issues. Not sure if it was related to what I am describing.

Do you hear a slight creak when you come to the stop, also when you let off to go (like when the light turns green)?

Could be worn rotors/pads.

I don't believe so. If I did hear that creak, what would it be?

When you get this sound it's rather late to replace the pads - they are gone and will damage your rotors so that you have to replace both for sure. But check your rotors if you see worn scratches like small groves that's a clear sign

I believe what the OP is saying is that when he takes his foot off the brake peddle that his brakes are still applied for less than a second and they release, My car does the same thing. I figured it was a safety function for what ever reason, I just ignore it.

and I just replace my brake pads and noticed nothing wrong with the rotors, and cleaned the brake calipers and greased the pins, so I know its not a caliper, rotor or pad issue. Most likely a brake programing thing within the car.

Definitely not a wear issue. I'm a car guy and would be all over that. Rotors are fine and pads have a lot of life. It rarely happens. Yesterday not once. Ya know, we have had a lot of humidity here in Vegas the last week or so. It is finally drying out. Could be the humid air causing the pads to be sticky in a sense. Anyway, the car is still under warranty, so if need be, I will see my friendly dealer.

Thanks!
