Strange hazard light problem.

Just got my first BMW and loving it.

It's a white 318i SE (1997 R reg), old, but runs smooth, cheap insurance (under 350 fully comp) and no rust (that I've found). I like it anyway!

My problem is this....

Unlock and open door - hazard lights come on, but go off after 30 seconds.

Start engine (with doors open or closed)- same problem. Driving me loopy. I've checked the hazard light wiring and relay and they're fine.

Apart from this, I'm loving the car. Is there a cheap and easy fix (or ideas of where to look next) - car is totally standard with no mods.

Oh cr@p! Might be cheaper to install a new one if it is....

So assuming it is, I've either got to fork out for a new system....and work out how integrated it is with everything else, or re-mortgage the wife and kids if I take a trip to my BMW dealership!

Might be easier to disable the alarm?
