AC and Radio Cut-out

Before I go to the Dealer I wanted to do a search and now post in case anyone else has had this?

While driving there are quick (1-2 sec) cut-outs here and there with whatever is running except the engine. The RPM's do not drop, just the radio, and whatever else may be on.

Anyone else experience this?

Doesn't sound normal. Have never had that happen in my 2 years ownership of my 35i.

Agreed - take it to the dealer. The armchair/internet mechanic in me says "loose connection" somewhere in the electrical system

Are you perhaps in heavy tree cover or downtown with tall buildings at that time?

Re: AC and Radio Cut-out

Do you have HD radio? If you do that is your problem, nothing a dealer can do. You should be able to go into the I drive and turn HD radio off and that should fix it

Hmmm. Not just the radio though. At the same time the AC cuts with it. Guess I will need to visit. Stock stereo.

When you say AC, you mean the fan or the compressor? Either way, sounds like something is loose and its a job for the dealer.

I have a radio cutout, but only with one channel. The rest seems fine. Not sure if this is a defect, but will have it checked next tuneup.

Mine ('14 x3-35i) does the same thing. Not radio and ac at the same time, but both will occasionally cut out.

Is this normal or are you planning to get yours checked ? I will but not a special trip. Will do when it goes in for servicing.

I'll probably mention it when I take it in. It doesn't last for a second - what I hear is that the blower cuts out momentarily and then comes back. The radio I've attributed to Sirius and the fact that digital / satellite radio will cut out if the signal drops (as opposed to traditional FM radio where the sound degrades if the signal drops).
