Question on installing Lux H8 V4

Hi guys, I just purchased the Lux H8 V4. Well, I am not good at installing or fixing stuffs, but I heard that it is super easy to install.
I saw the installation guide on the website, but the V4 has been easier. Thats what I read.

So the flat side of Lux, will be showing on the top... right? Them twist it to the clock direction?

Help me please!!!

Also,

http://luxangeleyes.com/guides/LUX_H...all_E92_M3.pdf

Bottom of the 2nd page

"Insert the new LUX H8 into the headlight, reversing the steps to remove the old bulb. You will need to twist it clockwise until it locks into place with the orange grommet providing a firm seal. You will also need to tuck the wiring and black box into the headlight housing. There is plenty of room for a nice comfortable fit. See installation tips at the end of this guide."

No need for thanks. If you have an E92 then the install may be a PITA because there isn't a lot of room in there. Just be persistent and if you have any problems, we are always here.

Which chassis do you have? Don't worry, I did mine and I have big hands as well, its just a pain.

Check the link I sent you, the very bottom of the last page shows the tabs and how they align in your head light.

Here is again.

Awesome, I also have an 08 E92.

The fit is small, so if you have girl friends, siblings, neighbors, children they can help you if you hand doesn't fit. But like I said, follow that guide I sent you and follow the tips, and line up those tabs I was telling you about.

They should form and upside down "T" so follow that, don't worry about the flat part.

To amplify. The taps that are referenced (3 of them) are different widths. Thus the putting the light in and turning clockwise isn't something that will happen unless you line the taps up to fit the position they go to. As the picture shows those tabs should line up but that is when it is installed. Thus you need to have the tabs offset slightly counter clockwise so when you insert the bulb and rotate them clockwise they will line up.
This is much harder to describe then it is to actually do. When removing the old bulb note when removing it to keep the orientation the same and not turn the bulb. You can then see the correct tab location.
I have large large hands and it was very difficult for me to do this and I used some tools to aide me in getting the bulbs seated. As mentioned someone with very small hands can do this with ease.

I used a plastic door panel tool to put pressure against the bulb and then a screw driver to rotate the bulb in place. You have to apply pressure to the back of the bulb but a small hand can do both put pressure on the back and twist it in...

No, you can do it. As posted by others, it takes a bit of patience and sometimes a tool. I have small hands, and even so - I found that for me especially on the passenger side using a pliers to help rotate the bulb into correct position helped immensely.

From what I understand the V4 Lux bulbs have orientation markings that will help immensely.

How hard can this really be if I'm getting ready to rip out my LUX H8 V3's and replace with LUX H8 V4's?

haha well i had made order couple days ago, and it was on 3 am. So i think Lux missed it, so i have contacted them and make sure that i did pay for it.
I just got a tracking number for it, it should be here on Tuesday i hope.

I just did made an apointment with precision sport industries, they will install the lux for me, and also i might going to do some coding on there.
Cause my car's welcome light works, like.. on the door handle LED comes on but from someday the AE and Tail light stopped working on the welcome light function.

Think i should code it also to fix that..

Here's a tip that I wish I would have known:

The drivers side bulb, when you're turning it to pop it out, turn the plug from 12 oclock to about 3 oclock, pop it out, put the lux in at 3 oclock, and turn it counter clockwise to 12 oclock. That will lock it.

For passenger side, turn it from 2 oclock, to about 5 oclock clockwise. Then pop it out. Put the lux in at 5 oclock, turn it counter clockwise to 2 oclock and it will lock there.

For guiding the lux into that little slot, What I did was drop the bulb in back end first, and slowly lower it so that the tip of the bulb is resting on top of the silver housing, then lightly hold the black circular tip (not the LEDs!) and lower it a bit more. the tip should slip out of your fingers and land into the slot, then reach down, grab the heat sink side and pull it forward towards you. My first one took me about 40 minutes to get the right touch, the second one took 10 minutes. The key is patience and finesse and you'll get it. Save yourself the labor costs, you'll feel really manly after you do it yourself. Ha!

Good luck!
