BAV Auto Shipping??

So I see a nice set of Beyern wheels for my xi for a great price of $900. The UPS Ground shipping is quoted at $687. !!! WTF? I have had larger wheels than these wheels shipped to me for around $40./per wheel.... So anyone know why the shipping is soooo high? Theyre in Portsmouth NH.... so its the contiguous US.

Insurance???

Recently, I purchased the "donut" spare (wheel and tire) and tool kit from ECS in Ohio. UPS Ground shipping was about $44 which roughly corresponds to $1/1 lb. At my place of business we ship a lot of small packages across town via UPS. Typical cost is about $6 per lb. When my recent set of tires were sent from the Tire Rack Distribution Warehouse in Louisiana across the state line to Texas, UPS ground shipping was $56.

My best guess is that they are insuring your wheels against damage in shipment and passing that cost on to you.

Still, seems pretty high even with insurance... So say it was 60 bux/ea to ship, that's $240.00 That's leaves $447.00 for shipping insurance??

Call BavAuto and make them explain it to you.

Worst case, you walk away, none the worse. Good luck - keep us posted what falls out.

I can't say exactly why our site came up with that shipping price but it certainly isn't correct. I would suggest either giving our sales staff a call or shoot me an email with the part number and your zip code for an accurate shipping price.

I believe I found the problem if the OP was looking at a set of clearance 17x8's in Chrome. Should be all set now.
