Battery

i need to replace the battery in a 2004 325ci, do i need to reset the computers or anything like that? or just the radio preset and radio memory?

I think the "reset" came with e90. If you have BMW radio, it should keep your presets too.

No need to reset anything besides the clock.
I've replaced the factory battery in my 2005 325Ci with a Duralast 49-DL before and all that was the only thing - maybe radio stations but that was all.

As mentioned, you don`t lose anything but the clock, which takes all of ten seconds to reset.

Whatever battery you purchase, check it closely to see if it has a small vent hole near one of the corners, If yes, you`ll need to re-use the little plastic elbow and vent tube from the old battery, just wiggle it gently to remove it without breaking it.

There are some good Youtube videos on the steps to replace. About a 10 minute job. The vent hose hides behind the battery but is easily accessed. Make sure the battery clamp is resized before tightening down. Several photo's online where the clamp is reinstalled and tightened not allowing for new battery slight height difference cracking the top when tightened. Just the clock needs to be reset. I used an Interstate Battery. 2 years and no issues...
