Driver dashboard display smudge? (Photo)

I'm not sure how this got here but I hoped someone might help me figure out how to remove it. Its definitely on the inside.

Difficult job? It's especially noticeable at night.

I had one like that on my nav screen, it showed up after I had my car detailed. I can only assume that some vinyl protectant product affected the polycarbonate negatively.

I buffed the cover clean again with Meguiar's PlastX, then polished it with Novus #2 and then Novus #1. Looks good.

I removed the nav screen from the car to make it easier and not get product on my dash pad or trim.

Please note that my car is a 2009; I have heard that some of the later cars came without a polycarbonate cover on the nav screen which means that following my advice would be VERY VERY BAD on one of those cars!
