Nice pic. What color is the interior?

I always knew that black was the fastest color, now I know why.

THat wouldn't have been enough for dinan products anyway.

Seriously though does anyone know if the Intake upgrade helps? 899 isn't as bad as the one for the 335i but I sure don't want to pay that for 1hp and some carbon fiber engine candy.

More air volume never hurts, but for me it's more about sound than HP in my opinion. If you want meaningful HP, underdrive pulleys are probably the way to go.

I just worry about the dinan non standard size pulleys especially if you're out of state and break down or something, maybe I'm being paranoid though. I was looking at doing their pulley kit + intake.

The car behaves no differently with the Dinan pulley. I've been running mine over 2 years in the hot ass Houston heat and humidity and this includes August track days. People complain about Dinan prices but they put out high quality products. And their R&D is by far some of the best in the after-market game. I take the Nike approach with Dinan........"Just Do It"...........Phil

Some of the other pulley kits (e.g. Rogue Engineering) use commonly available belts that you can get over the counter.

I've had lots of their stuff (1 point off the badge with my 335i). I didn't imply it'll behave differently, I'm simply saying the smaller pulley they went with is harder to get a hold of on the fly then if they'd used the standard size.

I wouldn't worry about that......worse case scenario you would have to go with a stock pulley in a major emergency. I'd be more concerned with the belt. Although I've heard it can be had at NAPA............Phil

Is this the BPM BMW E90/E92/E93 M3 S65 4.0L V8 DME Tuning Software that you are installing? If so, why did you select it over the Dinan M3 Performance Engine Software?

If not what is it?

I think he's getting the DCT and the Engine Tune.

Any idea why he selected BPM Sports over Dinan?

Yeah both

Also I wasn't happy with Dinan tunes and while I love the warranty with the BPM I can just take it off if something major happens like the cobb.

Peer Pressure, local tuning, higher hp/t gains even for stage 1 bpm.

I can't remember but I think I'm looking at 10/20 whp and torque upgrade over the 9/8crank hp from dinan for an extra 200 bucks and all the local support I could ever ask for.

Because I told him too.

Honestly, I have heard great things about BPM. I then found out there is someone local to me that installs them so if I ever need help, he's there. I've been as happy as can be. Plus, I've been able to talk to Mike Benvo Personally on more then one occasion for things that I thought were a problem but weren't. BPM also states bigger gains, and BPM is constantly improving their products. They're always innovating and that was just icing on the cake for me.

Benvo is the man. I never did see what the claimed HP gain is for a stock M3, but my opinion is the tune is more about smoothness than straight out power.

Best part of the tune... I did mine in a parking lot on the way back from the Performance Center after taking delivery. We chatted while he uploaded new software for DCT, ECU and also completed some coding for me. The man loves BMWs and knows them inside and out. His operation is way more boutique than a Dinan (it's just him basically), but he's also way more accessible.

It really helps when someone as passionate as Mike tunes your car. You're able to trust him - and after sales support is just as good. I know I'd be able to trust my car with Mike.
