I want to publicly thank Okee(OK) for an incredible job of coding our new 500iX GT remotely.
He successfully implemented all the items we picked on the list of 34 choices; some i had no idea were even possible. It has added a lot of convenience to the already great vehicle.

He can be searched for here TRPLE3_O Coding or e-mailed at
codemycar@gmail.com
if anyone has a desire for professional assistance in coding their vehicle.

We had him add:
Close windows and Sunroof with GFOB
Fold and Unfold Side Mirrors with FOB and CA
CLOSE tailgate with inside button and / or FOB .. this is a huge plus for us.
Enable taillight during DRL
Run High beams with Fog light
See our blinkers in HUD
See telephone contacts in HUD
See music choices in HUD
Make it so when parking using surround camera you don't have to wait for the warning that blocks the front of the car to go away.
and a few other goodies.

Exactly what equipment did you need at your end for the remote coding?

A laptop with WiFi access. Preferably running windows. I have a Mac but run windows via parallel.
An Ethernet port on the laptop or an ether port adapter (USB).
A $35 cable that Okee sells on EBay. It plugs into the Ethernet port and the vehicle.

This IS intriguing. I assume that he uses
a program like LogMeIn or Team Viewer to allow your laptop to be used for the procedure once you have hooked up the special cable. (Is it USB at the vehicle end and Ethernet at the computer end?)

Thanks for this thread.

He uses Google Remote Desk and will give you links and inductions. He also asked me to download quite a few files prior to our Internet appointment.

The cable is Ethernet to the computer and OBD connector to the car.

Many thanks for sharing all the details of your experience. It may lead to a number of the rest of us going the same coding route as you did.

Thanks for sharing.

What constitutes the list of 34 items out of curiosity?

Cheers

Sorry but I deleted the list from my email. Message or email Okee (OK) and he can send it to you. Okee is TRIPLE3 Coder and is very helpful. You can search for him on this blog site or email him at the address top of this post.
