H&R Lowering and wheel spacers

Just had the car lowered last night and I think it turned out great. I added 10mm spacers to the front and 12mm on the rear.

Why did you add the spacers? Does it effect the handling?

Looks great ... that's the perfect height. Should have come from the factory that way.

Thanks everyone. The change is subtle, yet at the same time make a big difference over stock

The spacers just push the wheels out closer to the fender the way they should have been from the factory. I don't know why BMW pulls the wheels in like that. Check out the Camaro's, look how nice they look pulled out.

I have not noticed any difference in ride. Maybe it's the Dinan effect,("does it feel fast") but when I first drove it I felt like I was sitting lower even though were only talking an inch.

Looks great Richard! Did they have to remove the back seats to do the drop? I just hate to have any collateral damage in the process.

My í13 has air suspension in the back so adjusting rods are installed. No need to remove the back seats. The rear is simple and takes 15-20 minutes. I have no experience with Eibach so canít give you a comparison. It took my mechanic about 3 hours to complete the install.

2009-2012 F01's require rear seats and shelf removed for install of springs
2013 F01's have air rear suspension, so links used and no dis-assembly required of the back seats.
2009-2013 F02 - have air rear suspension, so links used and no dis-assembly required of the back seats.

I purchased the kit from Turnermotorsports.com.

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-12...ive-760li.aspx
*******>*******>********>********>
H&R Sport Spring Set - F02 750Li xDrive, 760Li

Part #: 28999-6
Lowers 1.6" in Front and 1.5" in Rear
Provides superior ride and maximum lowering

Enhance the look of your vehicle with a reduced fender well gap. H&R Sport Springs lower the vehicle center of gravity and reduce body roll for better handling. The progressive spring rate design provides superb ride quality and comfort. A lower wind resistance signature will make the vehicle more streamlined and improve gas mileage. If you are only looking to improve one part of your vehicle's suspension, you cannot go wrong with installing Sport Springs. Fun to drive, H&R Sport Springs are the number one upgrade for your vehicle. Kit includes 2 front springs and 2 rear regulating rods for the self-leveling system.

This item fits the following BMWs:
2009+ F02 BMW 750Li xDrive with self-leveling
2009+ F02 BMW 760Li with self-leveling
*******>*******>********>********>
Shipping Dimensions:27x17x8
Shipping Weight:15.00

Price: $327.95 (USD)

I have a buddy that is a mechanic so he installed the kit for $200 and that included alignment.

I purchased the wheel spacers from Burgertuning.com. They run $99 a pair. I have 12mm rear and 10mm front. If I had it to do over, I would have purchased 15mm for the rear and 12mm for the front. Still may pick up a set of 15mm and sell my 10mm. Wherever you purchase spacers, make sure they include the longer bolts. Your stock bolts will be too short.

Must be nice to have friends that can hook you up. My local shops here quoted me $700 just to do install.

Man that is a rip off. Best I found was $250 for lowering and $75 for alignment.

For $700 they better polish that rear shelf damn good.

Wow l $700 is pretty high. I got quoted by a reputable shop $287 out the door w/o alignment for my 750Li for the same parts Rihard installed, H&R springs and BMS 10MM-F & 12MM-R spacers
