I going tonight to sign the paperwork, so ill do my best to see if they can lower the price.. these dealers around here are tough to haggle with.. plus this car as all the options I want and is hard to locate at this price range.

Thanks for all the advice, i truly appreciate it. Wish me luck! lol

What is the actual dealer's invoice, which is different from BMWConfig?

I would negotiate everything before you get there, unless you feel comfortable that you can "close" on the deal face-to-face.

Good Luck

I asked about this when I went in Saturday and they said it was right at invoice and there wasn't anymore room for anything else off and BMW incentives were included. Are they obligated to show me there invoice if I ask?

Yes they should, I'd even ask for a dealer disclosure form (probably not going to get that, it shows all their profits they make on your car ). Keep in mind their invoice could include additional about $600 (MACO+Training) , which is normal and there is nothing they can do about it.

Nice, Thanks for all the info about the lease, its a big help. I am going to take the deal either way, but why not try to get every penny out of them, Right?

Does anyone know why BMWFS would require a $6K security deposit? I saw an M5 listing on swapalease and the guy had $11K as security deposit, even if we take out $5K for MSD i.e. MF reduction, that still leaves $6K in min security deposit. What gives?

I suggest you do a lot of research on this site. There are countless examples of lease deals and how to get a good price. Understand that invoice which is about 93% of retail is a good place to start. Many here get their cars at $500.00 (or less) to $1000.00 over invoice with good lease rates (money factors) and other discounts. BMW commonly offers incentives as well.

The deal quoted above is IMO heinously bad and is a huge windfall for your dealer.

Last, never be impatient about buying an expensive car. It can only lead to overpaying. Here's my deal. I leased a 2014 328i that retailed for $43,025.00 with nothing down and about $2000.00 in incentives. My payment is well under $500.00/month and I get 12K miles/year on the lease. My rough guess is with nothing down you should be able to get a payment under $600.00/month.

Just a quick comment (long time leaser). I would NEVER put a penny "down" on a lease...did I say NEVER. You are "renting" the car. All my leases have been finalize with "tax, title, license" only.

Did I mention to never put cash down on a lease?

I would add that cash down is not the same as security deposit/MSD. The latter is highly encouraged.

Yes. I had to explain that to my parents, who have leased 3 cars in their lifetime...all within the last 10 years.

Hey guys, first post, but have been reading for awhile trying to learn as much as I can. I'm about ready to lease a 435xi and just wanted to see if you guys could let me know what kind of initial deal I'm getting. After looking through this thread, it's looks like my MF is high, but I really didn't look into numbers very closely on my first lease and don't know for sure. Here is the deal:

435xi
Alpine white
leatherette
Cold weather package
Technology package
36 months
12,000 miles/year
Likely will end current lease 2-3 months early with BMW making these final payments in the early upgrade program

MSRP= $52,775
Sales price = $50,125
Doc. fee = $131
Acquisition fee = $725
Rebates = $1,000 (loyalty)
Down payment = $3,500
Amt applied upfront = $1,831.11
Total cap reduction= $2,668.89
Net cap cost = $47,456.11

Residual = 0.62
Residual Amt = $32,720.50
Rate/MF = .00155
Advanced payment = $581.61
Upfront charges = $1,249.50
Initial pmt = $4,500

Base monthly pmt = $533.59
Monthly tax = $48.02
Payment = $581.61

Does this look like a halfway decent deal? Should I put that much down or any at all? Thanks in advance for any insight. I've learned more from this forum than I ever though imaginable.

Down payment is not a good idea, even paying fees and charges upfront is not a good idea. Wrap them back into lease and use your money for MSDs; you reduce your payments and have no liability in case of total loss of your car.
Your MF is marked up, get it down to base 0.00125 and you have a good deal for 435ix.

Are people seeing the dealers max out the Money Factor on 4 Series? ie not .00125 but adding up to .0004 for .00165?

In other words if they give a deal off MSRP are they making it up marking up aquisition fee ($725 is normal from BMW) and the MF .00125 is normal but dealer can add up to .0004 on to the Money Factor (.00165).

Most deals I saw had base numbers, but somewhat marked up over invoice pricing due to low inventory

Several dealers had marked up MF but I demanded the base rate.

Looking to lease first car and am trying to calculate scenarios before talking with the dealer, please let me know if I am doing this right. 36/mo, 36k

MSRP: $48,900
Residual + 60% ($29,340)
MF = .00125

Sales price = $46,125 (out the door price including incentives, acquisition, doc, etc, but not taxes..)

Base lease amount = $16,785 ($46,125-$29,340)

Base lease monthly payment = $466.25 (16,785/36)

Monthly interest = $78.64 ((16,785 + 46,125)*.00125)

Monthly sales tax = $27.98 ((16,785*.06)/36)

Total monthly payment = $572.87

Looking to do a $0 down lease, other than 1st month payment. I realize this is a bit simplified, but as long as i know the final adjusted cap cost and what it consists off, then it seems a fairly simple calculation.

As others have said...tell the dealerships to put ZERO money down. The only deposit you should invest in is the Multiple SEcurity Deposit (MSD). Other then that, bake every other cost into your monthly payment.

Base lease amount = $16,785 ($46,125-$29,340)

Base lease monthly payment = $466.25 (16,785/36)

Monthly interest = $78.64 ((16,785 + 46,125)*.00125)

Monthly sales tax = $27.98 ((16,785*.06)/36)

Total monthly payment = $572.87

Looking to do a $0 down lease, other than 1st month payment. I realize this is a bit simplified, but as long as i know the final adjusted cap cost and what it consists off, then it seems a fairly simple calculation.
Did they tell you a MF of .00125?
