A couple current pics of the lolvo. The new steering wheel came out of the parts car. Very nice wheel. Also there is photographical evidence of the locker-induced hoonage from last night

Its right there, sprayed all over the side of it.

That car is the epitome of the screaming metal deathtrap. I love it.

Well... campus facilities management failed to lock the gate for the dirt road going to this strange dirt field surrounded by rock piles. You can guess the rest...

Looks like they may have finally found a buyer for the Nurburgring.

Just FYI: The US Grand Prix is streaming live from COTA right now on NBCsports.com. They've only been running for a few laps now.

And typically, they had a wreck on the first lap. They seem to prove you can't fit two objects in the same space at the same time every race start.

Those guys have cat-quick reflexes. Watching them go through corners looks like the video is speeded up. They are the very definition of "scary-quick".

Yeah, accidents on the first lap happens pretty often in all forms of motorsport. Everybody's trying to win the race in the first lap...

I gotta say, I find watching races on modern race tracks to be quite underwhelming. I'm not saying I want tracks to be more dangerous, but modern tracks are all flat, wide, acres of runoff, etc. They're so expansive that it almost looks like they're racing in a giant parking lot with temporary curbs installed. COTA, Shanghai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, etc...

I agree 100%. I think that's spelled b-o-r-i-n-g....even though they're going scary-fast. F1 is all about tire and fuel strategy if you aren't driving a Red Bull Renault.

Cool pix CJ!

Unfortunately not... She had to ride a flatbed home. It was almost comical trying to drive it home with the snapped trailing arm. Every time I got on the throttle, the whole car would sway seriously. It was actually pretty scary going like 20mph

Somehow it wasn't as noticeable in the dirt...

Almost forgot...Here are the results from the TSD rally I did with the Detroit SCCA last month. Weather ranged from sunny in the high 30's to sideways snow. I had a blast. My co-driver did not.

2013_pavement_ends_scoring

I'm pretty impressed that I managed a 61 at checkpoint #16 considering that my co-driver quit after sector 2.

Fun! Why did your co-driver call it quits early?

Haha, at one point I looked over at him after getting a little bit sideways through a turn and he was totally , hunched down in his seat with a white-knuckle deathgrip on the grab handle.

He didn't really know what he was getting himself into. By the end of the first sector he was getting really carsick and had a migraine coming on. I figured Milos could really crunch some serious numbers because he's got a degree in mathematics. I thought he'd be a great co-driver for a TSD rally. Turns out math skills are a bit lower on the list of priorities than I would have thought. I give him a lot of credit for sticking it out for as long as he did.

First Auto X of the season yesterday! Cooper RS3-A tires are officially not worth a crap in the wet.

Dunlop Direzza ZIIs are on the way from Tire Rack.
