Unhappy X5 Transmission ISSUE

I have a 2004 X5 4.4I Sport which has just had the transmission cooler replaced. $4k AUD
since getting the car back last week the transmission has been playing up.. was searching for gears or surging.. clunking back and forward under low revs, under full acceleration is was ok, seemed to be ok in manual mode as well.
then after driving for 3 days it is now stuck in 3/4th gear, I cant select manual mode or manual mode.
I have tried the re-set sequence and nothing registered.
PLEASE HELP........ I am worried its going to be another multi thousand dollar job....
car has 144klm...

Mein Auto: X5, 4.4,
who fixed it last week? If your gear box was running sweet, then take it back and ask did they put everything back together right etc. 4k, mate, you'd want it to be running like mothers milk for that, sounds like the torque converter could be a bit dodge. What symptoms did you have that alerted you to the transmission cooler issue? Who said it was that? Could be that the gearbox was on its last legs too. Did you ever change the tranny fluid? I just did mine, and it runs perfect, and mine's done 165k, kms. Id be asking whoever stinged ya 4k to say, fix the next bit, you only did half the job
