GPS won't take address numbers....

I have a 2011 335d with factory GPS. Sometimes when I try to enter the street number, the numbers I want to enter are not available or it will enter a series of numbers that are not even close. Anyone else had this problem? Any fix?

Voice recognition works very well and is a lot faster. Typically if you can't enter the numbers the address doesn't exist or you are in the wrong city or state.

Sometime the streets are specific as in (NW, SW, etc...). Example. Carny LN has house numbers up to 1500. Carny LN NW has house numbers up to 4500.

I use zip codes usually. And sometimes if you type in S. 6TH ST, it wouldn't show up. Type in 6TH ST and it will pop up as 6TH S. Or you're in the "wrong" city aka the GPS has 2 or more same cities in the search. Once you get use to it, it works fine.

Another possibility is that the street numbers have been updated, and the map software is out of date. This happened to me about 5 years ago when E911 was rolled out in my town.

335d head rests

My wife does not like the head rest in the passenger seat - it pusher her head forward more that she would like. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions? Thanks
PS - no need to hear from "do gooders" about safety and/or how this car is perfect just the way it is! Steering is also not too good and this is a well known common complaint.

This car is perfect just the way it is. Steering is also perfect. Also, headrests are a safety item.

Me too.

I was a bit confused about what headrests had to do with nav and had a good chuckle.

They also make these archaic things called "Maps".

I hear they work.

Har, har....

I've had nav systems give me a range of addresses rather than a single address. Also, as noted above, there can be a big difference between "NE 1200" and "1200 NE" and similar character sequences.

this is most likely esp. if you live in a newer neighborhood. 2011 models generally have 2010 maps in the Nav.

i run into this a lot and is where BMW Assist comes in handy for me.
