7 series wheels on a 328i coupe

The 7 series wheels look great on my 328i coupe until I get on the car and they rub. I was wondering if upgrading the rear suspension with new KYB shocks fix the problem.

The shocks were worn out by the previous owner who had a box of speakers in the truck.

They rub because the offset is wrong and they protrude too far.

The only way to make them fit is to roll your fenders, and you would need to roll them a lot.

Generally, 5 & 7 series do not fit on 3-series due to the differences in offset (and vice versa). For that matter, M3 wheels do not fit on non-M3 (except for some special circumstances with the M3 fronts.) Also, E46 wheels do not fit on E9x cars.

This is why replicas exist (with different offsets from the original).

Would it be dumb of me to continue to mount them. Or should I just go with smaller wheels.

Just go with smaller wheels. I'm sure you can find similar styles without the improper sizing.
