2014 X3 waiting time

I ordered my X3 35i (loaded version) on August 2nd, and I was told today by the BMW it was put in the system on the same day. The latest update in the system was on August 9th - I have no idea what kind of update. My dealer said 1 month to delivery and it's been 3 weeks now and still no scheduled production time and no VIN. Anyone placed an order recently or had the X3 delivered? What's the waiting time? Thanks for the update.

I, too, ordered my 2014 X3 Msport, fully loaded, on 8/2.

On 8/5, I got the build sheet with the production number.

I know that 35's are harder to come by vs. 28's so I knew the next allocation that my dealer had was in September. The actual build week is week 38, which is week of 9/16.

If you don't have a production number yet, means dealer hasn't an allocation available to provide you. Sounds like they sold you a deal with no slot and are waiting.

VIN is generated once it goes into production.

I placed my order on the 29th of July, got my production number on the 13th of August, so far still waiting to get into production, it's depressing...

Oh I ordered a 35i too.

I left the dealership 3 weeks ago with a production number in my hand. A customer service rep at BMW (800-831-1117) told me today the X3 35i is the most popular model. Have to keep waiting.

2014 x3 35i M Sport ordered on 7/30. Was originally told by CA that delivery time was running about 4 weeks. After not seeing any progress for 3 weeks, I am now told my x3 is scheduled for production on week 36.
Apparently, according to my CA, the delay was due to retooling for 2014 x5 production line which happened in early July. All x3 orders were pushed back at least 2 weeks. At this point, I am expecting delivery around 9/20.

Because your dealer likely did not have as high of a production slot available to assign for you...;they may have used theirs on earlier customers

I ordered on June 27th and production was completed 5 weeks later, but I understand the plant was shut down for one of those weeks. Took about another week to get the vehicle to my dealer in Texas. Waiting was pure agony, but it WILL be worth it. :-)

4 weeks exactly from order date (7-12) to build completed. However my X3 had to sit for 2 weeks at Spartanburg since there was a 2 week wait for the first Performance Delivery pick-up slot. Just picked her up last week (8-21) and it was worth the wait!

This information may be more useful to the european customers, I'm interested in the X3, most current, order-to-delivery US timeline. But thank you.

Thank you! I am looking forward to receiving it.

You should get on your dealer. They can push things along - for instance, was your car marked Priority 1/Sold? That apparently means a lot in the BMW queue. The dealer also has more information than the customer service reps. I have found some reps who know very little, while others seem to have access to a lot of information once you engage them in conversation. Anyway, I'd hound your dealer - that's their job... Good luck!

Hello every one. As I see almost everybody here on wait list.
ordered 2 x3 35i's on 8/8, got order sheets with production numbers on 8/12,
checking web and phone tracking same results, scheduled for daily with no confirmed date. And one confusing thing, ordered both in jet black colors, but one of them with incorrect color alpine white, did anyone had incorrect color in order documented stage, and was it corrected later?

When mine first showed up on the website the picture was Alpine White but changed in a few days. I figured it was probably their default color until they get the actual order details input.

It takes a few days for the production number to update with your specs. It's been almost 2 weeks so contact your dealer and double check with him, but I'm sure it's a website thing. Color on my X3 was Deep Sea Blue Metallic before changing to white after a week.

Add a week for delivery - Meaning 6 weeks from placing your order to actual delivery. I ordered mine a week later, on the 5th of August, so I should expect mine to go into production next week and to be delivered around the 13th of next month. Not bad. Thank you very much for your update!!! I will keep everyone posted as well. Best.
