I had replaced mine with HIDs and they were extremely bright. They were about $100 or so and I needed to fing a place to mount the basalts and electronics with zip ties behind the bumper. I bought then here:

Later I went with the new style strip light.

Are these easier or harder to replace compared to headlight bulbs?
Had some bright white installed (attempt at angel eyes-another discussion) and now the fogs look
dull by comparison. I would like them to match.

Getting to them is a pain but once you get there putting in new is a breeze.

for E63/4 LCI cars, you'll need a Canbus kit as Tim already mentioned, that's the one you should look for.

100W is ridiculously high, you should be careful, that will melt your wiring.

Why don't you try Brand New Ultra Bright 20 LED Fog Light Set. The newest lighting product and system technology. This is a Day and Night Lamp combo for your high end vehicles.

You don't have to drop the front bumper to change the fog light bulbs. It's a little tight but you can access it from inside the front of the wheel wells and underneath. Here's a link to the video DIY that I used.

I had to replace one entire fog light assembly and I dropped the bumper for that job - but the bumper removal was fairly easy following this DIY

Bad idea. LED bulbs in the fogs don't produce much light, they tend to glare a lot and worst still they require a resistor to get rid of the error message they produce.

Fear not. First time i did it I was really concerned. Now it takes about 12 minutes to remove and about 10 to put it back.

You can get to the fogs from behind without removing the bumper but you do have to pull off the bottom panel.
