E90/E92/E93 M3 (2008 - 2014)
4th generation E90 M3 sedan, E92 M3 coupe and E93 M3 convertible. The last of the naturally aspirated M3s, powered by a 4.0 liter V8 making 414hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.

Vent fan problem - FIXED

My 2008 E90 has been having a problem lately with the blower not working. It started about a month ago when, just every once in a while, the blower won't blow on any setting (including MAX, so I think it's not the First Stage Resistor pack.) It would start working after 15 or 20 minutes (which is a hot 15 or 20 minutes here in Houston.) Now it hasn't worked for the last two days.

Any thoughts from anyone? Blower motor? (seems odd that it would be intermittent like that) Battery going out? (I've heard it can cause some weird problems when it starts going out.)

It is a very common issue on 3 cars & 5 cars, Also easier the replacing blower. Check you battery voltage as well. you can google instructions for replacing FSU on three series car.

I found a blower WITH the regulator already on for $140, so just replaced both rather than guess which one was the problem. The failure was still intermittent, so time will tell. Easy to get to once you remove the glove box and lie on your back on the passenger side floor
I did find some burned contacts in the regulator connection, but I don't know if it came from a regulator or blower motor problem.
