Car won't turn over. Possible fuel issue.

Car is a 2000 528i.

I was driving for like 10 minutes when the car puttered out once I tried to accelerate out of a stop light. Lights still worked, would try to start the car and would putter out after about a second. Tried to start it this morning and the engine turns but won't catch and turnover.

I got a new battery like 2 months ago and I replaced the fuse #54 even though it wasn't blown. I've been told that fuel pumps are a common problem so I'm wondering if that's the case, or are there ways to check if the fuel pump is the problem or not?

I took the vehicle to a mechanic last week and bank 1 and 2 O2 censors came up, but I was under the impression that it really only affects emissions and smog. Also check engine came up for "fuel system leak" but the mechanic said its most likely the gas cap, which I haven't replaced yet.

TL;DR
Car won't turn over. I think it may be the fuel pump. What are ways to find out what the problem is, what the problems are, how to fix it?

Thanks.

Fuel pressure test. Fuel pressure test kit is $30 at Harbor Freight. It screws on to schraeder valve on fuel rail. Piece O cake.
