Captain Audio Charity Challenge

As most of us know by now, due to a health situation, Captain Audio has had to cancel this year's Northeast Fall Foliage Run. In the past, CA has worked tirelessly in organizing a fantastic event available to all Bimmerfest participants, and in support of a worthy charity - the American Mural Project.

Unfortunately, and because this event will not take place this year, the American Mural Project will not have the benefit of the generous donations that would have been raised this Fall. Last year, the Bimmerfest Community raised over $4,000 in support of this worthy cause.

In support of Captain Audio's good works, and to show him that we care that he has a speedy recovery, I would like to propose a challenge to all who enjoy the comaraderie of Bimmerfest. The goal will be to raise the bar, and donate a minimum of $5,000 to Captain Audio's designated charity for this year's event - The American Mural Project. To start the ball rolling, the Eden Charitable Foundation, the organization that I represent, pledges to match dollar-for-dollar, any Bimmerfest member donations up to a maximum of $2,500.

Let's show Captain Audio and the American Mural Project that Bimmerfest Members care.

When he has the chance, Captain Audio can let us know how and where to send our donations in support of the American Mural Project.

CA, get well soon, and in the mean time, the Bimmerfesters will carry the ball to the end zone for the American Mural Project during Fall '13.

Short notice, but if you happen to be in the area, they are expecting a large turnout and it should be a fun day. All Bimmerfesters invited.

"Bimmerfest" is the key word. If donating by check write "Bimmerfest" in the memo section. If you donate on line at:

http://www.americanmuralproject.com

put "Bimmerfest" in the send acknowledgement section.

After you make your donation post to this thread so that it stays active and PM me and Beden1 and let us know.

Your support will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

CA

I just read the sticky about this since it was still a month away and was checking on any news/updates when i saw this.

I'm really bummed that "Fall Foliage" isn't being run this year. I wasn't able to hook up with y'all for C2C5 in June & was looking forward to this. Oh well, one's health is more important than a drive thru the woods.

I'm just curious as if there is a tentative timeline on this? Granted it's an open donation link...but were y'all aiming for something similar to what would've happened had things gone as scheduled; e.g., Oct. 5 when we would all would've met for the Run?

Hope you have a quick recovery from whatever ails you, CA.

You and me both. I did a little Rocky Balboa Victory lap around my desk this afternoon!

ps: the pleasure all mine. It's always good to support worthwhile endeavors, for me even more so when they are art related.

Interesting. A scientist into art. You had me when I learned you were raised in a family that appreciated cars.

Turn it around - an artist into science . . . and you have Da Vinci.
There is a lot of common ground if you are doing both well.

My heart and soul belong to art, but I do science to keep myself fed.

I thought science was sacrosanct of art? But, I can understand the need for nourishment, of both body and soul.

I guess it depends upon who you are talking to, but in my world, no. Science and Art have equal priority. Science holds an essential place but art dictates the final resolve.
