Blacked out Tail lights

Ok so I decided to do my tail lights today and I'm kind of nervous. I've been doing a lot of reading about tinted tail lights and almost everybody says it's illegal, so I decided I'd do one and see what everyone thinks.

i'm not a fan of that. I prefer smoked better. but I belive you need a strip of the white to be visible for backing up.

I'm not really a fan. If anything I'd get one of the factory smoked hellas with just the clear part smoked. The DIY ones tend to look like they've been driving through a coal mine.

that's a little too dark, you should try the 3m grey film. Heres my old X5 with the film, its very light tint, gives it a very oem look. I got my car booked in for next wed to get it done on my 540i. I can post pics after

I just put 3M tint on my windows - if you don't mind me asking, what did it run you for just tail lights?

its nothing like window tint film. Its the same 3m film used when 3m'ing your front end of the car. Just this one has a light tint, but its thicker and has that rubber feel to it. I got my headlights 3m'd, corner lights tinted, side markers and tail lights tinted for about $150 CAD.
