E39 (1997 - 2003)
The BMW 5-Series (E39 chassis) was introduced in the United States as a 1997 model year car and lasted until the 2004 when the E60 chassis was released. The United States saw several variations including the 525i, 528i, 530i and 540i. -- View the E39 Wiki

Oil drips left side

..on 528, cant find source. What are the most likely spots?

Do you mean driver's side or passenger side? Left side changes depending on whe you're standing or sitting.

If it's driver's side, most likely it's the oil filter housing gasket (OFHG).

If it's the passenger side, most likely the valve cover gasket.

I had a leak like in the photo:



Parts no. 6


I replaced the gasket and now it's dry.
This is tyical M52/M52TU/M54 fault.
